Where we aim

WCAG 2.1 Level AA. We treat it as a floor to keep clearing, not a badge to earn once.

What is built in

• Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and headings that nest in order, so a screen reader can skim the page structure.
• Every product image carries descriptive alternative text rather than a filename.
• Text contrast is checked against AA on the ink, gold and sage combinations used across the site.
• The whole site works from the keyboard: tab moves through the menu, the search box and the product buttons, and focus stays visible.
• Type scales with the browser setting instead of being pinned to a fixed pixel size.
• Layout reflows to one column on a narrow screen without a horizontal scrollbar.
• No autoplaying video, no flashing, no carousel that moves on its own.

Known limits

Product photography comes from the manufacturer and its own contrast is outside our control. Once a link hands you to a retail partner, their accessibility standard applies and we cannot speak for it. Where a partner has fallen short, tell us and we will raise it with them.

Report a barrier

If something on this site blocked you, write to [email protected] with the page address, what you were trying to do and the assistive technology in use. We reply within two business days and fix what we can straight away. Reports of this kind are the most useful mail we get.
